I have two defective USB wired mouses, and I don't want to buy new one again so I decided to fix and experiment a bit with them.
Actually, my first mouse has defective USB connector but seems fine otherwise and the other one has broken Scrolling Wheel and Left Click Button. Let say I could replace the USB connector of my first mouse, taking the good cable and USB connector from my other mouse and use it to replace the defective one since I don't know how to fix defective USB connector and Left Click Button. After a few hours of experimentation it was successfully fixed. Now I am going to tell you about my experience to help you troubleshoot your mouse with the same case. Let's call my first mouse as Mouse A and the other one as Mouse B.

1. I used these tools: Philips Screw Driver, Scissors and Sticky Tape
2. I opened up both mouses using Philip Screw Driver.
3. As I opened both mouses, I found that the circuits and wiring were slightly similar. Then I cut the Mouse A's cable leaving some 1/2 an inch to expose bare wire using scissors.

4. My first attempt was to connect I understand to reconnect the cable with their same cable cord color. But the Red LED did not lit, that means it was wrong combination.
